Aww poop! Is this blog doomed?

Under other circumstances, at the rate we've been blogging, I (David) would contemplate calling it quits. But with my return-to-work date quickly approaching, I suspect that regularity will return to this corner of the web; much like the regularity one would expect from a sibling after you secretly made her s'more with Exlax instead of Hershey's.

Speaking of which... Heather, Quinn and I have been having all sorts of fun. We recently traveled to Three Lakes Wisconsin for a vacation that wasn't crappy at all. That's right, Quinn went a whole 7 days without pooping. We had grown used to 2 or 3 day intervals, but this one had us scratching our heads. I suspect that it was all the extra stimulation. Well, that and a growth spurt. See, there and back equated to 11+ hours of driving, and Quinn can't wake up when she is in the car seat. So on top of her regular nightly sleep, the extra time sleeping probably prompted the growth of a few inches. I believe this theory is the most logical one, seeing as how when comparing Quinn to her Auntie Faith – A.K.A. “Shordy” (who was also in 3 lakes) she had almost closed the gap of difference in their height during our visit. And even if this wasn't entirely the case, the stimulus certainly may have been enough to distract Quinn's digestive process.

There were all sorts of new experiences for Quinn to take in. Grandma Jan and Auntie Faith obviously weren't new (but seeing them toast in the sun was). However, she did meet Uncle David and Auntie Pat for the first time. Though we all had fu in 3 lakes, Quinn and Pat seemed to have an exceptionally good time while together. And if meeting people weren't enough, there was of course: watching daddy swim, watching daddy throw Auntie in the lake, Watching family make s'mores, watching the 4th of July parade, watching fireworks, watching a water ski show, and of course, watching all sorts of other things (objects) that no one else seems to have an interest in.

When we finally returned from 3 lakes, we went straight to the Doctor's for the last of Quinn's Immunizations. The next day was Ma Skelton's birthday shindig with a whole new cast of people to meet. On top of many cousins (some removed, some seconded), Quinn finally got to meet Uncle John and Aunt Kelly. Despite it being Mom's day, Quinn received lots of attention and stimulation throughout the event. Others in attendance shared in our concern of Quinn's lack of poop. That is why there was a great cheer when we called family members hours after the event to announce that Quinn had finally exploded.

So that was the vacation week. Last week Heather returned to work part time, allowing Quinn and I to entertain ourselves (A.K.A. Accordion time).
