Not-so-anonymous bootleg

A bootleg video I made a few years ago has been uploaded to "myspace" by the band itself. Being the egomaniac that I am, I put my name on it. Now it is all over the web-er-net for the whole world to see. However, I still don't get much in the way of results when I google myself.

Why?

Why would anyone google this? And how did it lead them here?

Quinn - the Brit

Peter was also at the ABCE Tour and snapped a few photos:

Quinn has also been posing for a few photos outside of British cycling events.
Here she is having fun at Mounds Park:

And here she is doing her impression of Buddha.

And here she is working on her latest pastime, playing with her feet. This is a game that is so new that she feels she must practice it while sleeping. Unfortunately, when she lets her feet drop (once every minute or so), it wakes Heather up.

The Red Coats

The All British Cycling Event recap:

Rather then spend hours directly loading all of the photos, they will simply be linked here.

For example...

Another example of a roadster made for the canadian market.

My Canadian market Roadster.

What my roadster would look like if it were made for Americans.

What my roadster would look like if it were made for my Sister-in-law.

Jon's Royal Enfield.

A vintage Roadster.

The bike that won the best story award.

A superbely cool bike (but even cooler was it's owner).
- here he is receiving his award for the bike.

Ronda won the grand prize giveaway, a Raleigh Colt with a coaster brake 3-speed. It was donated by yours truely. Hipsters fear not, for the hub was a 40 hole, not the 36 hole you've been looking for.

Speaking of spoke holes in hubs, check out these impressive 48-hole hubs (both front and rear).

And lastly, Quinn had kindly offered to model my NOS British made child seat (along with daddy, of course).

Also, the photo at the begining of this entry is of the ever elusive Hetchins (feel free to go buy me one today).

Ye Olde English Roadster

After many hours of work, spread of many years, my Raleigh roadster, customized for Canadians, is finally ready for ogling by my fellow Anglophiles at the 7th annual All British Cycling Event held this weekend. This will likely be one of several bikes brought to the weekend's events. If anyone wanted to attend this event, but found themselves without an English stead, feel free to contact me to arrange to borrow one.

A labor-ful labor day weekend

We were ready to welcome the labor day weekend on Friday. Quinn spent the night at Grandmater Jan's house on Friday. David and I were looking forward to a night"off" and catching up on sleep.

We soon realized that our attempt at a fun-filled Friday evening would not workout in our favor. It started with a trip to a car dealership in hopes of finding a vehicle that we liked enough to test drive (our '91 Accord needs repairscosting more than the value of the car, so we decided it's time to replace it). Turns out dealerships close at 6PM on Fridays - who knew! This was our second failed attempt to search for a vehicle. Last weekend we drove out to Maplewood on a Sunday and learned dealerships aren't opened Sundays either.

Since we had extra time, we checked the newspaper to see if we could catch a movie. Factotum had already started and Talledega Nights was showing within the time frame next at the Mall of America. So, we skipped the movie. Then an attempt to order dinner from Pop's before they closed ended up with a hostess asking us to hold and forgot we were on the line. We ended up getting there as they closed, but they felt so bad having left us on hold that they went ahead and whipped up our order. When we came home, we were looking forward to getting to bed early. However, there was a really loud party down the road which wecalled the police twice to complain about.

After catching up on some sleep, Saturday proved to be a lot more productive and fun. We test drove a couple cars, went out to lunch, and saw Talledega Nights before we went back to pick up Quinn. Sunday, I was called into work for a few hours and David is working tonight so we didn't have a labor-free labor day weekend. Still, there is a whole day of the weekend left, so let's see what sort of fun adventures may still be in store.
