If you can't find a partner...

Media Dump

Time to clean out David's ol' cell phone. Let's see what it has been holding for us...

A rare find at the Farmer's Market:

Here we have a Bridgestone MB2 with a John Deere color scheme.

I briefly owned this same bike after I talked its owner down from his $45 sticker price at a garage sale. It wasn't my size though, so I gave it to Matt after a couple of weeks. If he still has it then it is locked away in some secret vault, I'm sure. I talked to the owner of this one, she said that her dad had the exact same bike. Sorry, Matt, but I guess they aren't as rare as we thought.

Here is Quinn (among others) at her last day of ECFE class.

Quinn helping out on recycling day.

Quinn, having already mastered soccer and basketball, tries her hand at a predecessor of baseball/softball/cricket:

Quinn's first temper tantrum:

And lastly, a glimpse at the new breed of "gang" plaguing the East Side; roving gangs of skateboarders. Donchya wish you lived here?

How is this possible?

After being the points leader at the beginning of the NASCAR season, Mark Martin, after missing several races this season and dropping to 14th, is a contender once again after finishing 7th in Monday's race at Dover. He is now 12th in points.

Good thing we're not fans of a driver who's been in every race this year and is only 20th in points.

Today was the last race on network TV. It'll be on cable now till the middle of September. If you have cable we may make an appearance on your doorstep during the summer.

Dining out

Well after several months of having it on our list of things to do, the three of us finally managed to make it down to the Viaduct Inn for some local Mexican food (and Mexican beer for David). The place is an amazingly well kept Art Deco bar. Yet the thing that impressed David the most was the ancient oversized urinals in the men's room; truly designed with drinking in mind (they were even recessed down a good 9 inches into the floor).

Of course the food was good too. Certainly not "Americanized" mexican food, but it was a bit more contemporary than simple traditional Mexican food one might find at places like Taco House.

Also last weekend: Quinn discovers shadows, and pages through her book of people and places she knows.
