It was a dark and stormy night...

Saturday morning's storm hit pretty hard in the Grandparent's hood by Como. Not many trees were left standing on their block. Fortunately, apart from a couple significant limbs falling, they still have more trees in their yard than most of the rest of the block combined. Perhaps the storm gods remembered taking their front yard pine tree years ago and decided to skip them for the most part.

All said and done, the aftermath was quite a sight.

A week in the life of a cell phone

Last weekend was dedicated to cousin Mary's wedding in Duluth. We all welcomed David Jensen into the family. As usual with the events that bring my (David's) extended family together, there was a lot of catching up to be done. In my attempts to engage several of the youth in our common language (water fights), my efforts to throw a Colombian into the lake backfired when a sibling in my blind spot pushed me into the lake instead; linen suit and all.

Also while in Duluth, Quinn and I got to witness a boat (the "American Spirit") leaving the harbor.

Once back home, Quinn quickly immersed herself in her usual play routines.

Graffiti chalk in the alley.

A Family of Strings

There is one for each of us. The newest addition is the baritone Uke (the one on the left) which was my (David's) belated something-or-other present. So now we can all play some stringed harmonies.
