New Camera - New Photo Shop

I have a new digital camera. I had been wanting one for a long time as my old one was at least 5 years old and my list of complaints about it kept growing. I went to National Camera since I knew that I would get professional advice. After an hour experimenting with a variety of cameras and an employee patiently humoring my indecision, I purchased a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX1. I was surprised by my decision having not considered Sony prior to my visit to the store but I am very happy with it so far especially after taking their free introduction to your digital camera class to learn some tips beyond what is covered in the manual.

I'm glad that my experience was a positive one as my preferred photo processing store Midwest Photo Service has just gone out of business. I had been working with Rob and his staff for years and was always impressed with my experience there. They helped me with several personal projects that other places either couldn't or wouldn't do. Tripod

Today we mark another first. Quinn held her pencil with a tripod grip rather than using her fist. It was pretty cool!

A Wish

Quinn became a Junior Ranger on Saturday. She learned about birds from park rangers and was able to see an Eagle up close. Then on Sunday, we went to the 4th annual Wishes for the Sky event at Harriet Island which we have attended all 4 years. This year she was able to make her own wish..."I wish for lots of Eagles in the sky."

Nutcracker Cake

A few months ago Quinn announced that she wanted a Nutcracker birthday cake. I immediately started planning...drawing sketches, collecting supplies, internet and library research. After hours and hours of preparation, the cake turned out really well!

Someone has viloated Facebook's "Statement of Rights and Responsibilities" on the April Fools page to the neighborhood newspaper (lower right in linked page).

Damn Kids!

I (David) just had to trespass (for the night) someone I know of One on One fame from my place of work. First conflict of interest in 13 years: not bad.
